Rough reddened areas on the body surfaces of trout are sometimes the result of a condition known as Strawberry Disease. It is most common in rainbow trout and is usually observed in the Spring and early Summer. The causative organism has not been identified but it is believed to be bacterial. Normally, affected fish recover from the condition. It poses no risk to humans or other animals. |
